On this page you will find information on the mares we breed from.

NIMBUS

Nimbus - Cloud Nine x Temple Ramiro
Nimbus - Cloud Nine x Temple Ramiro
This stunning 17hh grey mare is homebred by us, pink papered with the AES, by Cloud Nine II out of a graded SHB GB Temple Ramiro/Grandferdinand mare. Her sire competed very successfully with Ben Maher at 1.45m and is now continuing his Grand Prix successes in Belgium. Cloud Nine is very much the new ultra-modern athlete, descending from the great thoroughbred’s Cottage Son and Lady Killer, with sufficient blood to breed show jumpers, dressage horses and eventers. Although Nimbus is bred in the purple to jump she oozes quality with a fantastic movement for pure dressage which complements her undeniable jumping talent. Her super paces that cover the ground and are fluid combined with a fantastic hind leg and natural elevation mean she really does have the potential to do any job and should be characteristics she will throw to her future foals.

URSULETTE

Ursulette is 16h, born in 2001, bright bay mare by the outstanding Jazz out of a Wolfgang (Farn)/ Zeppelin mare.
Letisha has the paces and temperament you would expect from Jazz (highly successful International Grand Prix Dressage Stallion) but combines this with the jumping talent you would expect from her Wolfgang/ Farn damline given that Farn was sire of the inimitable Nimmerdor. She competed up to BE Novice with Ruth Edge and had also done various working hunter and unaffiliated dressage/ showjumping before being a very good broodmare for a few years in her previous home due to family commitments. She foaled easily and was a good mum, Letisha is a dream to have on the yard, easy to catch, loves grooming, fuss and attention and is good around dogs and children. We brought Lettie back into work for a few weeks on one of her years off so we didn't have too many foals on the ground at once and she loved every minute of it. Photo is of her first xc schooling session after coming back into work.

MOVISTARLET

This stunning mare is by T-Movistar, son of the world-class stallion Jazz was a new addition to our mares in 2015 and her lovely nature meant she settled in perfectly. She was lightly broken before being put in foal and showed an exceptionally trainable attitude and an extravagant, uphill movement. Cindy had her first foal in 2016 by Cyden Bodyguard Moorland (Gribaldi x Negro). He is an incredibly well put together young man and it is clear this mare firmly stamps her foals (photos can be seen on our '2016 Foals for Sale' page). Movistarlet may be brought back into work or may be for sale as a broodmare/ potential ridden due to a change in our breeding focus. If she may be of interest to you in either capacity, feel free to get in touch.

DONNALI

Donnali is a 17hh top class proven brood mare (born 2001), BHHS and Oldenburg approved, who is one of the last daughters by the legendary Donnerhall.

Donnerhall himself needs no introduction but an indication of his outstanding contribution to dressage breeding can be gleaned from the fact that in the 2012 Olympic shortlist Donnerhall appears 4 times as sire, once as dam sire and once as 2nd dam sire. His son Don Schufro (Donnerhall x Pik Bube) appears 5 times as sire whilst another son De Niro appears 8 times as sire.

Her dam sire is the fabulous Pik Bube I and she is 3/4 line bred to the incredible dressage stallion Don Schufro.

Donnali gained a 9 in her mare performance test for her rideability and lightly competed as a 4 year old under saddle when she was 3rd in the finals of the Shearwater young horse competition, gaining the highest conformation marks.

She produces fabulous foals who are receiving the prestigious Oldenburg “Premium” title and her first daughter by Rubin Star N has already gained the “Ster” predicate from the KWPN.

She is approved for breeding with both the Hanoverian and Oldenburg stud books.

WELTSTAR AMBRINI

Amber - Weltstar Ambrini
Amber - Weltstar Ambrini
Amber is a BHHS graded mare by BROADSTONE WEST COUNTRY. She combines the temperament, trainability and paces of WELTMEYER through West Country, with the power and presence of DUTCH COURAGE (through Dutch Gold), one of the pioneers of dressage in Britain, through her damline. Although Amber is now used purely for breeding, when ridden she exhibited an exceptional ability for expressive movement through her shoulders combined with an active hind leg and showed supreme rideability. Her kind and genuine nature also shows strongly in her youngstock.

REMUS DORADA

Dorada is a BHHS graded mare and another gorgeous example of the cross of the legendary DONNERHALL with a PIK BUBE mare. Not surprisingly she has amazing cadence to her paces, particularly the trot and a lovely trainable temperament, both of which she seems to pass on to her youngstock. Dora is currently in work and shall be competing BD this season.

URENA

Urena is a 15.2hh, dark bay KWPN mare (born 2001) graded with the BWBS, by the exceptional Dutch Young Riders Stallion INSPEKTEUR. Urena is consistently throwing comapct, well-built and uphill foals with friendly characters and abundant natural cadence to their stride.
Inspekteur, a 16.1-1/2h dark bay KWPN approved stallion by Darwin, possessed the best in bloodlines, movement and character accented by a stunning exterior. As a ridden stallion he achieved numerous successes and titles and his exceptional nature, rideability and robustness is exemplified in the fact that his career spanned a 12 year period with titles or placings at either European, Dutch National or International Young Rider Championships in 10 of those years. These successes came with a series of riders including 4 team gold medals and a bronze individual medal at the Europeans with Marlies van Baalen.

Urena’s dam line is also very strong, supported by the thoroughbred blood of her dam sire Elan, an advanced dressage and jumping stallion in his own right and sire of Ex Libris the Oldenburg graded Grand Prix stallion who won his 100 day performance test.

FLAMENCA

Flamenca is the latest addition to our mare group and is a pink papered Hannoverian. Her sire Fabriano is extremely well thought of as a dual purpose sire producing grand prix offspring both for dressage and jumping, whilst her damline includes Bolero who as a TB/ hannoverian cross is known for adding refinement and rideability. In addition all of the mares in her pedigree are either State Premium or Hauptstutbuch mares. Flamenca herself is graded with WBS-UK and has a lightness and elegance which we look forward to seeing in her foals in the future.

Amanda is graded with the SHB(GB) and is by TEMPLE RAMIRO.

GODINGTON LORELEI

Laurie - Godington Lorelei
Laurie - Godington Lorelei
We owe all our breeding successes to this mare. She ignited the desire in us to breed and produce top quality youngsters and taught us that 'broodmares' are not always as straightforward as they may seem! Laurie was a graded, double branded Trakehner mare by ROLAND, the foundation stallion of Godington Stud. Her first foal, Lexikon successfully competed BSJA to grade A before turning his hand to eventing.
